European Double Award Win

At a prestigious ceremony held in Rome and attended by key international business and political leaders, we have been doubly acclaimed as overall category winner of the European Business Environmental Awareness Award and as a recipient of the Ruban D’Honneur for Customer Focus.

The European Business Awards (EBA) programme is a showcase of business excellence, best practice and innovation in the European Union. Our achievement against competition from multi-national organisations in all sectors and all EU countries is an outstanding commendation and confirms our position in the environmental vanguard of food manufacturers.

The rigorous judging process recognised the strategic and operational determination to ensure we can provide the best possible customer value without compromising our commitment to quality foods produced under the highest environmental standards.

Our newest product range, Gourmet Marinades, endorses the capabilities and approach that secured these awards. Developed in consultation with and especially for the butchery sector, Gourmet Marinades create great tasting, ready-to-cook meals with the FREE FROM guarantee that they contain no artificial colours, artificial flavours and hydrogenated fats.

In its third successful year, the EBA attracted record entries and our success against the best businesses in Europe crowned a series of accolades received for our environmental efforts. Over the past three years we have secured the Northwest Foods Envirowise Award, a Northwest Business Environment Award, the National Energy Efficiency Award and a Food Manufacture Excellence Award.

In response to the latest achievement, our production manager Dave Wheeler commented: “We are delighted that our efforts have been recognised in this way. In the last three years, we have introduced a range of groundbreaking initiatives in order to reduce the environmental impact of our premises and production systems. We have made a significant investment in a new factory which includes technologies designed to reduce energy consumption, to increase production efficiency and to manage the recovery and re-use of manufacturing by-products and waste.
